Step 1

My roommate is trying to quit smoking, finally!  I thought this would be a great opportunity to get into the prescription kitchen and see if there is a yummo food that might help her out on her journey.  From what I've read breakfast is kind of a big deal for her situation.  Something about low blood sugar.  Various sources mention grains, oats and healthy sugars which help to maintain healthy blood sugar levels along with several other positive effects.  We will look closer at each of these foods in upcoming blog posts.  Tomorrow evening I plan to make a big batch of granola that includes some of these helpful ingredients.  Hopefully she will have some with yogurt or milk each morning and we will be able to keep track of her progress throughout her quitting process.  Good luck girl!

Hello!

Welcome to The Prescription Kitchen!  I'm Ellie, I love food.  I want to know more about it though, so I'm starting this blog to document the experiments taking place in my kitchen.  Some posts will be information about different ingredients while other posts may be recipes or...  The goal is to learn more about what I'm eating and to come up with some delicious recipes.
